MPOWER is: monitoring tobacco use, promoting adoption of smoke-free policies to protect the public, offering to help the public quit smoking, warning about the dangers of tobacco, enforcing bans on tobacco advertising, and raising the price of tobacco through taxes. The initiative has helped fifty-nine countries pass laws or policies aimed at cutting tobacco use in places within those countries with the largest number of smokers and has saved nearly 35 million
